Set up and managed a bioenergy company in Tanzania for three years, growing from 3 to over 30 employees and servicing thousands of farmers.
Obtained my PhD degree on socio-economic impacts in developing countries, covering various feedstocks and countries and was able to draw lessons from the huge variaties in countries and socio-economic challenges, such as different business models.
Did research in India with SuTRA (sustainable transformation of rural areas), where a very specific model was implemented providing smallholder farmers with additional water.

I’m passionate about stimulating and accelerating sustainability and thereby creating opportunities for (rural) development. Enhancing positive socio-economic impacts and limiting the negative ones by making sure projects are implemented in a sustainable way, and taking the context, technology, cultural values and the balance between economic and social benefits into account. There are so many opportunities out there!
