Worked as a research analyst for five years in the most sustainable bank in the world (Triodos Bank).
In one year, visited twelve leading microfinance institutions on three continents and helped them develop their social and environmental strategies.
In June 2010, was trapped on an island due to bad weather, and was able to experience the camaraderie and positivity of young staffers of a Philippinean microfinance institution.
Trained hundreds of financial institution co-workers on Social and Environmental management and found that despite their busy agendas and commercial focus, 99% of them showed commitment to improving social and environmental performance.

I feel privileged to live in a rich country. And it feels bad to know how much of the wealth in my life comes with an environmental cost. It is fantastic to be able to travel and meet people in remote areas, for instance in The Philippines, Mongolia, Bolivia or Angola – they give me so much optimism and positivity! I have learned that people are a real source of sustainable energy!
