Developed an agent network with a large commercial bank in Zambia, from business modeling, process design, setting-up MIS, training agents and staff through re-designing and expanding processes for IT management and performance-based training programs.
Worked with a wide range of development organizations (NGOs, MFIs, co-operatives, banks and private businesses) during a three year training position, enabling me to look at developmental challenges from completely different perspectives.
Living for 10 years in Zambia, enjoying the beauty of its people and the natural environment of Zambia and surrounding countries. Closing this period with a 3-month family trip around Africa was the perfect finishing-touch.

In my view, making this world a better place for all requires the involvement of a wide range of stakeholders. This starts with listening, questioning and understanding challenges and different viewpoints whereby different voices need to be heard. This will form a strong basis to jointly work towards a solution.
One of my favorite quotes is from Maya Angelou: ‘Nothing will work unless you do’. For me it reflects people’s own responsibility, and the value of just getting a project started, making small steps and learning from what works and does not work, instead of planning and talking too long.
